Re: embossing pouches
I have used the embossing pouches.. they are great for using on smaller items as they are approximate credit card size.. so perfect for sayings and logo's or even just a plate of swirls for a background..
They are also perfect if you are into clay work and silver clay.. add a little balm to the die and you can imprint onto your work..

I signed on to help my sister with her wedding invitations. Do the embossing pouches create plates that can be used with inks?
Thanks so much!

Re: embossing pouches
Hi there..
Thankyou for the question..
The embossing sachets for the Imagepac are for creating an embossing die for dry embossing..
For use with inks you would require the Imagepac/Imagebox polymer stamp sachets.
Hope this helps.

Re: embossing pouches
Hi again -
Sorry, I should have been more specific -
I'm actually looking to reproduce a letterpress effect on the invitations, so that what is printed also indents the paper a bit. I was inspired by this:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Makeshift_letterpress_with_a_cuttlebug_Part_One/
I was wondering if there would be any problems if I used ink on a finished embossing die, so that it would print and emboss at the same time.
Could certain types of inks or cleaners possibly soften the die, causing it to stick or smudge? I know that photopolymers are used to create printing plates for letterpresses (and so can be used with inks) but I am not sure if what is in your embossing pouches is exactly the same material.
Any info would be very helpful. Otherwise, I will do it by trial and error.
Thanks again!

Re: embossing pouches
I have asked the manufacturer of the plates this questions and the reply was:-
"Embossing plates will take ink, but are rigid, so they wont give as they deliver ink.."
So.. basically I think you could give it a go, just be careful with the type of ink you use.. ie Stazon etc.. as this may make them tacky..
You'll have to let me know if this works

Re: embossing pouches
Thanks - I will let you know. Haven't gotten around to it yet. I realize that the die won't be as flexible as a stamp - I'll basically be using techniques that are like letterpress printing, with more pressure than is usually applied while stamping by hand.

I can't see why this wouldn't work.. but obviously cannot guarantee anything as haven't tried it myself..
If you do try it and it does work you will have to let me know..
If you are looking to order any embossing sachets.. feel free to email direct dewdropcraftz@aol.com for an order as the sachets are not back on my new site yet..
